The Just Drums Learning Center

For over 30 years we have been providing the most professional education of drums and percussion found anywhere. This is an opportunity for self-expression, musical creativity, and a lot of fun!   The JDLC is propelled through our in-store teaching facilities at 137 Willowdale Ave, and is dedicated to providing our students with the highest level of drumming instruction. Currently serving nearly 300 students at all skill levels, our professional teachers are educated and working musicians – some even Juno Award Winners – and are dedicated to helping their students reach their drumming potential.

• Private 30 min or 60 min sessions
• Lessons cover: practical technique, music theory, rhythm studies, stick control, and rudiments
• Curriculum is custom-tailored to each student
• Concrete goals are given for practicing to enhance learning and achieve the best results possible
• Emphasis on having fun in a creative and supportive environment!
• Drum set, percussion (bongo, djembe, cajon), and all mallet instruments (bells, xylophone) are all available for private lessons
• Student Recitals and Performance Showcases are also encouraged and take place at various times throughout the year.

Our Teachers

We are proud to have the most professional and capable teachers in the industry.  They are consummate musicians whose talents and passion enable them to work with students of any age or skill level.  Students who have never sat behind a drum kit as well as touring professionals can all benefit from pro lessons.
As excellent communicators, they are all able to teach and style of music: Rock, Jazz, Latin, Punk, Heavy Metal, EDM,  Hand Percussion, PLUS mallet instruments such as vibes, marimba, and bells.
On top of the main goal being to offer the highest standard of instruction, our drum teachers possess the ability to connect with their students and give a real sense of inspiration. They not only teach the mechanics of playing the instrument, but they make playing and practicing a positive experience.  Lessons are personalized with the goals of each student in mind – some students will pursue a more structured curriculum while others will want the opportunity to develop improvisational and performance skills

Studios

All our soundproof studios are equipped with two modern and complete five-piece drum sets so teacher and student can work side by side in a private atmosphere to enhance the learning experience.
Music stand and metronomes are provided.  New and existing products are always available for current and up-to-date learning experiences.

• Professional drum kits with high-end cymbals and drumheads
• Double bass pedal equipped
• Audio playback capabilities for live play-along
• Bongos, Congas,  Djembes, and cajons can all be provided
• Effective soundproofing for clarity and noise reduction

Cancellation:

1. Regardless of the amount of time given, you are expected to pay for missed lessons.  Please Remember:  Students are paying for the teacher’s time as well as their instruction.
2. A 7-day window is available to schedule a make-up lesson.
   Make-up lessons are NOT guaranteed and are based on availability.
3. Make-up lessons cannot be scheduled during your regular time slot.
4. 24-hours notice must be given to be eligible for a make-up lesson.

Payment Info: 

The JDLC requires either credit card information or post dated cheques to be left on file.  This will assure that your time slot is reserved for you, and lesson payments remain prepaid.

Discontinuing Lessons:

Students wishing to discontinue lessons must give 7 days notice.  Without this notice, lesson charges will continue.  Unused lessons can be refunded only if the minimum 7 days notice is given.

Fees

We are committed to having the most competitive prices for the quality instruction we provide.
Single Lessons: $35.00 for one 30 min session
4-Pack of Lessons: $120.00 for four 30 min sessions

Monday to Thursday 3pm – 9pm
Saturdays 10am-6pm
